Help Yourself through Divorce

Starting a divorce can feel daunting and like everything, there are good ways and not so good ways of going about it. You could buy a divorce pack from the web for less than £500 as long as the divorce is uncontested and there are no children. But if you have assets and children, the cheapest way to divorce is to talk.

Divorce need not come at a price. If your spouse is also willing to behave in the same rational manner as you, you should congratulate yourselves - you are best placed to divorce cheaply and save yourself thousands of pounds on lawyer's fees because it is the arguing which costs money (and much more).

If however, you are not able to reach agreement you have at least tried and, by so doing, probably reinforced some of the reasons you need to divorce. So where do you go next – a lawyer? Whilst it’s in your interest to seek legal advice, have you looked at all the options available? Would you like to learn more about what you are about to go through and how much you can really help yourself and save money at the same time?

You can at The Divorce Coach 'How to Successfully Split' divorce workshops running in SW London (Hampton, Middlesex.) We are taking bookings now for the morning workshop on February 23. Read more here or sign up for our newsletter here to be the first to read about further dates.

Finance in Divorce Workshops in London

Following valuable feedback from our attendees at our October workshop, we are piloting a How to Successfully Split the Finances workshop in SW London (Hampton, Middlesex) on 19 January (pm) for the first ten applicants and in the afternoon of 23 February for more attendees. We’ll be going into greater detail about the financial side of divorce with the help of financial experts and inviting questions from attendees in advance designed to help them see how they can best tackle this area of divorce, often considered the most difficult.

Details of the workshop content will be available next week and booking will be available on-line. We’ll give priority at the January workshop to those October workshop attendees, but if you would like to register your interest now, please drop me a line at kirsten@divorcecoaching.co.uk and I’ll make sure you’re the first to know when booking opens.

Unable to attend the workshops?

We have made our highly acclaimed How to Successfully Split divorce eCourse available at the special price of £39. Sent over seven parts and two weeks, it will help you see there really is a way forward and that it is possible to have a best possible divorce - and an inexpensive one. Click here to read more and order on-line and start learning about your options through divorce in the comfort of your own home.

Courtroom Coaching - Free Help to Prepare for a day in the Family Court

In my last newsletter I wrote about the very positive feedback coming from our case studies on the pilot study. There are still a couple of places left on the pilot, so if you are facing a court appearance in the South East or South West of England in the next couple of months and need some help to prepare for a best possible outcome, e-mail me in the first instance with brief details, in confidence, and I’ll pass them to Shelagh Goldie, the lawyer in charge of the pilot study.

New Year – new plans?

As someone who can’t contemplate Christmas until seven days before Christmas, I certainly won’t be wishing you a Happy New Year yet. I am however aware this is the last newsletter of the year. To those readers who are facing a bleak Christmas, I leave them with one question:

‘What do you need to do to make sure next year is better?’

The way you answer could have a huge bearing on how next year shapes up.

If you would like some help in answering this question and finding ways to move forwards (especially if you have tried yourself, unsuccessfully to resolve it) then I may be able to help. E-mail me in confidence with a couple of paragraphs outlining the problem, what you have done so far to resolve it and where you are stuck and I will reply promptly with some suggestions of ways you could help yourself move on.

Very best wishes

Kirsten
